	Marco on scoring The Omen"The tricky thing about scoring ('The Omen') is that I didn't want to copy (Goldsmith's score). That would have been one way to do it since the remake is very similar to the original, but I felt it would be better for the film if the score was inspired by his work as opposed to duplicating it. I also used the instruments in a similar fashion to the way he used them in the original. There is a simple three-note figure from the original that I used several times because Jerry has based the original score off those three notes; all the themes were derived from those three notes. I have a theme for Damien and his nanny, and I have a separate theme for the family. I used a rhythm for the film that is based on the up and down motion of a piano pedal. That's sort of the rhythmic force behind my score."

	Tak 6/6 vychází nejen The Omen, ale současně vyjde i DVD UNDERWORLD EVOLUTION, který by podle DVD Details mělo obsahovat i nějaký dokument o hudbě a vzniku zvukových efektů :) Alespoň tedy ve státech, pokud bude dostupný i u nás a kdy vlastně u nás vůbec vyjde, těžko říct :(

	ad Omen německy: Lokimu jsem letmý překlad poslal na ICQ a on ne, aby se rozdělil s ostatními :)) Tak tedy nahazuji: Omen: tak - dnes končí čtyři dny dlouhé nahrávání v Abbey Road Studios. Nechci se dlouho rozepisovat, ale to score se opravdu skvěle povedlo. O hodně méně sborů než by člověk myslel, latinsky se nezpívá vůbec. Jen na konci main titles je krátký Goldsmithův citát a pak pro závěrečné titulky udělal Marco skvělou čtyřminutovou suitu z hudby k prvnímu Omenovi od Jerryho. Ta byla opravdu super. totálně super moderně aranžovaná. Na konci dnešního dne jsme byli všichni trochu blázniví a pro zábavu nahráli alternativní text sboru. uvidíme jestli se objeví ve filmu, na CD nebo aspoň na webové stránce. každopádně jsme se všichni hodně nasmáli. jinak je score spíše rytmicky orientované, vrchol jsou bezpochyby Hanging with Damien a Altar of Sacrifice, k tomu zvláštní, ale hodně dobrá stopa pro zbytek end titles a jedno velmi romantické rodinné téma, které taky upomíná na Goldsmithe a které končí třemi notami z Piper theme. člověk by řekl, že je to to nejemocionálnější, co dosud Beltranmi napsal. score má 39 stop, 75 minut + alternativní extra stopy. jinak nebylo nikdy plánováno použít Jerryho témata nebo celé score i když je film remake skoro 1:1

	The omen news není nikdy dost :)The Main Title of the new score is amazing! Begins with a dark choir and a basoon playing kind of Jaws motif... Then it goes louder (crescendo) and just goes over into a loud brazzy and stringy piece especialy for the Trumpets....recogniz able very fats strings...dam dam dam dam.... Well I like the action music more.....He also uses samples when the dog attacks and there is one sample like a heartbeat dominating the score... The celest just plays one time te 3 jerry notes and then at the end credits there is a new adaptation of the score used wich will never appear....so Marco did his own thing...BTW there is also a great piano theme when you'll see Damiens beginnings with Julia Stile (Mrs.Thorn)

	není v dohledu nějakej němčinář? :) soooo.. heute gingen 4 lange Tage recording sessions in den Abbey Road Studios zuende. Will mich gar net lange auslassen, aber der score is wirklich toll geworden. Sehr viel weniger Chor als man denkt, lateinisch wird so gut wie gar nicht gesungen. Lediglich am Ende der Main Titles gibt's nen kurzes Goldsmith Zitat und dann für die End Titles hat Marco ne supergeile 4minuten suite aus der Musik zum ersten Omen von Jerry gemacht. Die war echt der Hammer. Total super modern arrangiert. Am Ende des Tages heute waren dann alle etwas albern drauf und man hat zum Spass noch nen alternativen Text dem Chor untergejubelt. Mal schaun ob der im Film, auf der CD oder wenigstens auf der Website landet... wir haben uns alle auf jeden Fall weggelacht. Ansonsten ist der score eher rhytmisch orientiert, hihghlights sind zweifellos HANGING WITH DAMIEN und ALTAR OF SACRIFICE, dazu ein merkwürdiger, aber sehr cooler cue für den Rest der End Titles und ein sehr romantisches Familien-Thema, das auch an Goldsmith erinnerte und bei einem cue mit 3 Noten aus dem PIPER-Theme endete. Würde sagen das is das emotionalste was Beltrami bisher geschrieben hat. Score bestand aus 39 cues, 75 minuten, plus alternative extra cues. Dieses Jahr scheint also ein ganz gutes Jahr für uns zu werden, wenn man den hier als Indikator nimmt und was sonst noch so alles kommt. Ansonsten war nie geplant, dass Jerrys Themen oder gar der ganze Score verwendet werden sollten. Auch wenn der Film fast ein 1:1 remake ist... (die glasplattenszene is allerdings was anderes diesmal und huiiiiii... dat is vielleicht scheusslich geworden... lol).

	23.4. 2006, 18:11 Hey Petr, We finished mixing yesterday and it came out great. Marco is very pleased with the score and I think it's one of the best. No real word about a cd yet but I know Fox is working on one (I would imainge Varese since they did all the original Omen scores). So far we have Invisible and TMNT. I know Marco is going to work on Ole Bornedal's next film but not sure to what extend. The orchestra was 80 players and the choir was 24. We recorded at Abbey Road in London. I don't have any photos from the sessions. There was an Italian guy there taking photos. I'll see what that was about. There are a couple of solo vocal performances (not Petra Haden). There will be no more Petra Haden appearances on our scores. She's too expensive. Buck

	more The Omen news :)I did hear the montage sequence for the end credits that features Jerry Goldsmith's music (that was booming out of the 6.1 speakers) and it starts off with a short section of "Ave Satani" and I'm sure that there'll be some grand choral stuff here. Compared to Jerry Goldsmith's rather sparse original score Beltrami's music is very different. It is undoubtedly a Beltrami score and if you enjoyed his more recent scores such as Hellboy then you should like this.
