The Main TitlesBegins with a not singing male sound and a basoon playing (same way as the credits appear) like the jaws motif. Be aware of Spoílers:
The film begins in a (I didn't see the original) but in a kind of Astronomic Laboratory with a man (it seems to be in rome) who sees 3 meteors or sth like that...Bum the music gets tension and action...

The Bass Strings begin to play a ostinato (4 note repeating motif) then the brass and you see this man reading in a book....the brasses come in and there are synths above also in the dn credits wich is the same motif there with the (Jerry G/Satani) Gag in there....ok back to this cue ok the brass comes in and then the trumpets trill.....Bam Pizzicato 6 times and then the person runs to the vatikan I think it's the pope who speaks to him and then tension > crescendo (getting louder) loud pizzicato into a picture with the tower of a old monumental building...

:-)As for what Beltrami's score sounds like I'd say that it is very suggestive of his more recent material: Terminator 3, Hellboy, I, Robot, Underworld: Evolution in terms of both the action sequences and the more emotionally-charged aspects of these scores.

You'd recognise it as a Beltrami score - on the day it seemed that the music copyist had left off Beltrami's name from some of the score sheets and Pete Anthony (if I remember right) had come back into the booth after the orchestra had finished for the sessions and said that some of the musicians had been curious to know who the composer was because the music was so good - some of the orchestra had spent the whole time playing music and not knowing who the composer was! But I remember spontaneously saying "couldn't they tell" as it was to me characteristically Marco Beltrami.

další omen session report"This said, as i already mentioned I was in London for the recording sessions. I have not seen the movie in its entirety and cannot judge its effectiveness but at least the initial sequence is brilliant, and its concept more effective than the idea of the original movie. And the child is scary. I should also add that I am not a fan of the first movie, I think that Jerry's score is one of the best ever written, so I don't mind its being remade.
The music does not sound too much like Jerry's score, although it uses a choir. This is what Marco told me in our interview (I am translating back into English from my story in Italian, so all faults and mistakes are mine):

"I was very aware of Jerry's score for the first Omen. I have attempted to give him homage without copying his music: I have used part of the same latin texts, and recalled his orchestration in the use of a choir and the emphasis on the woodwinds. He had used a brief three-notes theme, that he then developed; I have also used it but built on it in a different way. In the end credits I have added a new choral arrangement of his music."

I was there for the recording of the choirs, and heard both this arrangement (which I fond quite powerful), and Marco's music which is in a different style indeed, I like the way they layered the choir over some powerful action cues. And for the final sequence, on the last day of recordings they rethought completely the music i a way that I found very effective. I have to say that in general the interaction between John Moore (the director) and Marco was very interesting, they were constantly bouncing ideas and changing things, and I found the process not only fascinating - they were still in the flow of the creative process - but also, in many instances, very effective. John Moore is very opinionated, but seems to know alot about music and its use - which sets him apart from many other directors."

Dneska už tak za 6-7 hodin začíná v londýnských Lyndhust Hall Studios nahrávání soundtracku THE INVISIBLE!
Pokud se situace od posledních zpráv nezměnilo, score by mělo vypadat nějak takhle:

"Invisible is a much more subdued score than Omen. We are still in the middle of working on it but it is coming along nicely. A bit more electronics involved in this one but is orchestrally based. We are using string orchestra, electric guitar and pianos. But it is still early in the process."

dnes 20:01 Hey Petr,

That Cursed cd is from Marco's agent. I haven't seen it. They
compile cds and send them to producers, directors ,editors, etc...

We record The Invisible this coming Saturday (20th) at Air Lindhurst
in London. I don't knwo the release dates for it or Captivity. The
Omen CD is around 55 minutes. We'll post some as it gets closer to
the release date. It sounds very good. We are both very pleased
with it.

To nejsou věštby, ale naprostá jistota nejen díky tedy trailerům, který jsou čím dál tím nudnější, ale i díky tomu, co už stihnul Moore zprasit... takže :-P

Marco on scoring The Omen"The tricky thing about scoring ('The Omen') is that I didn't want to copy (Goldsmith's score). That would have been one way to do it since the remake is very similar to the original, but I felt it would be better for the film if the score was inspired by his work as opposed to duplicating it. I also used the instruments in a similar fashion to the way he used them in the original. There is a simple three-note figure from the original that I used several times because Jerry has based the original score off those three notes; all the themes were derived from those three notes. I have a theme for Damien and his nanny, and I have a separate theme for the family. I used a rhythm for the film that is based on the up and down motion of a piano pedal. That's sort of the rhythmic force behind my score."
