The Omen ohlas :)I just got back from seeing "The Omen", and I really wasn't impressed
with the movie. To be honest, I thought it was pretty awful (you were
right when you said you didn't think it was going to be any good).

The cinema I was in had awful sound too, so everything sounded
distorted (although I was in that particular theatre on Saturday and
it was just fine). I shall have to go and see it again over the
weekend (ugh) just so that I can hear it properly! I must admit that I
kind of wish that the score had sounded more like "Mimic" and less
like "Terminator 3" and "Underworld Evolution" (I really like both of
those, but this particular sound is starting to become a little *too*
familar). I liked the main theme, though - it was quite creepy - and
the little three-note homage to Jerry Goldsmith. Overall, I enjoyed
the score well enough, but it didn't blow me away. I think I was
hoping for another "Hellboy" (which was where I fell in love with
Marco's music for the first time).

jsem divnej, ale mě se moc líbí i ty dramatičtější a akčnější skladby :) např. Big Bad Zipper, Really Bad Hair Day a finálovky The End of Fur a Jake turns on Ellie :) ale samo love theme je dost fajn :) i jeho song verze :)

NP: The Omen - Boy Genius - asi můj osobní nr1 track na CD :) akorát trošku škoda, že CD není delší, jelikož na základě tracklistu je patrná značná zkratkovitost - snad bude časem doplněný o pár tracků na ofiko stránkách k rozšíření nebo se objeví nějaká kompletnější verze :)
jak poslouchám celej den pořád dokola, tak se klidně vsadím, že poslední sekvence filmu bude identická s originálem poslední záběr na usmívajícího se Damiena bude doprovázen sbory "Satan", které se následně s nástupem perkusí, žesťů a orchestru v čase +/- 1:17 prolnou do závěrečných titulků. Jak poslouchám pořád, tak se začínají uplně v hlavě promítat obrazy a začínám se i těšit na zejtřejší premiéru :-)

Killing on the Carnival Row (directed by Guillermo Del Toro)In the fictional Victorian town of Burgue, fantastical creatures vampires and faeries live alongside humans. These mythological inhabitants, subjugated by the humans, are forced into either menial or criminal lines of work to merely survive, such as drug dealing vampires and fairy prostitutes. When a serial killer begins murdering the faeries, a la Jack The Ripper, a human detective who's been engaged in a taboo relationship with a fairy courtesan becomes the prime suspect and he sets out to clear his name by finding the true culprit.

The Main TitlesBegins with a not singing male sound and a basoon playing (same way as the credits appear) like the jaws motif. Be aware of Spoílers:
The film begins in a (I didn't see the original) but in a kind of Astronomic Laboratory with a man (it seems to be in rome) who sees 3 meteors or sth like that...Bum the music gets tension and action...

The Bass Strings begin to play a ostinato (4 note repeating motif) then the brass and you see this man reading in a book....the brasses come in and there are synths above also in the dn credits wich is the same motif there with the (Jerry G/Satani) Gag in there....ok back to this cue ok the brass comes in and then the trumpets trill.....Bam Pizzicato 6 times and then the person runs to the vatikan I think it's the pope who speaks to him and then tension > crescendo (getting louder) loud pizzicato into a picture with the tower of a old monumental building...
