nasel sem vybornej tip pro majitele GEforce 8600, ktery maj s hrama od blackisle neskutecny problemy pri zobrazovani. snad se nekomu bude ten tip hodit. u me to zafungovalo skvele, takze muzu zase parit lionheart:
I had the same graphic error with black boxes in Icewind Dale II and also with a Geforce 8 card. The different settings on the game options screens didn't help. I tried every possible combination. The only thing that solved the problem was to deactivate the DirectX graphics hardware acceleration. For those who do not know how to do that, here a short instruction:
1. Go to Start menu --> 'Execute'. Type in 'dxdiag' (without the quotes). The DirectX diagnostics screen will show up and you'll see a number of tabs on the upper part of the screen.
2. Go to the display tab. Here you can see your graphics settings and drivers and disable 'DirectDraw', 'Direct3D', and 'AGP Texture Acceleration'. Deactivate all three by clicking the according buttons and close the window.
The black boxes around items on the ground and around text messages should now have disappeared. I was able play IWD II without changing any in-game options. I play it with 1024x768 res, 32bit color depth and in fullscreen.
Important: Don't forget to re-activate the DirectX hardware acceleration manually through the dxdiag-screen by activating the three functions again! Otherwise you will get errors or crashes with other games/apps which require hardware acceleration!
