It took a few days for me to decompress and gather my thoughts…and now I wish to share some of the incredible feelings and moments I experienced from our #WorldPremiere of #BachByBeltrami last Thursday, March 3, 2022.
The journey to this point took nearly 4 years. When @marcobeltrami.music first approached me with his idea of reimagining Bach’s piano preludes from the Well-Tempered Clavier, I was struck by his inventiveness and felt the need to explore further. One by one, Marco wrote these pieces, shared them with me, and together we worked tirelessly to evolve a single concept into a complete live show.
I cannot thank @amp.worldwide enough for believing in me and supporting me as Marco and I brought this project to fruition. I am especially grateful to Tim Fox and Alison Williams for putting all their resources into finding an amazing venue for our world premiere and helping us bring all elements of the show together.
Speaking of venues…my heart is full of love for @thesorayastage. I became enthralled with the place when I performed there for the first time in April 2019. I was ecstatic when they offered to host our premiere this year, and I remain so impressed and thankful. Not only is it an acoustically and visually gorgeous hall to play in, but also everyone who works there is a gem. Thank you all for hosting us for a very special evening. It was a dream come true to have this world premiere on your stage and to work with your people. An extra shout out to Thor Steingraber, for introducing me to Delirium Musicum.
If you don’t follow @deliriummusicum already, check them out. I cannot fully express how much joy they brought to this experience. They show up with passion, enthusiasm, and determination— they are eager to present great music for the sake of making and sharing great music, and they work tirelessly for the precision of expressing their art. I have often fantasized about working with people like them. I hope we get to work together again many times in the future, and I wish them great success in everything they do.
Possibly my favorite moment of the entire show was when @HollySedillos and I played together, center-stage. This beautiful artist takes my breath away and makes me feel like I can fly with her, within the music.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention what a pleasure it is to play with the virtuoso, @theloosh. I have admired her since I was 10 years old and dreamed many times of the day that I would get to perform with her. What a treat it was to finally step on stage together in some truly exciting “dueling violins” action!
Cellist @mystabyers always amazes me with the sensitivity and sensibility of his playing. He produces some truly incredible colors of sound when he plays, which I could never forget.
We were also joined by pianist @thies_pianist, who has a distinguished career as a soloist and chamber musician, and added to the excitement of the evening with notes that sparkled up and down the piano keyboard.
Special thanks to @russellaudio, our audio engineer and production manager; as well as @malibu_pup and Roman, who took special care of our lighting design.
Thank you also to @luis.luquephotography for the lovely photos, and to @point_source_audio for my microphone.
My appreciation also goes out to: @aliahart22, @Jeniedahlmann, Ricki Quinn, @Justin.Souza59, @jkriegsman, @kemLaura, @kraftengelmanagement, @mrariimoana
