Písnička pro dnešní denStone - Naomi, pár měsíců poté co poprvé v životě sólově vystoupila na jevišti, předvedla pěkný kousek, jaký nedělají ani ostřílení matadoři.
K prvnímu svému sólovému vystoupení (někdy před 14 listopadem 2022, on tu bude k tomu i obrázek) se vyjádřila takto:
This week, I had the chance to perform at Montreal’s independent venue Casa Del Popolo! I shared the bill with three other amazing musicians: Norman Nawrocki (violinist), Audréanne Filion (cellist), and Antonin Bourgault (saxophonist). We each played a set, then ended the evening with an improvised set with the four of us onstage.
I’ve been onstage a few times: playing violin in my school orchestra, backing a rock band, providing live music for a theatre show… But this was my first time on stage solo. To say I had stage fright is an understatement. There’s a huge difference between playing at home, alone, with the comfort of starting over when a mistake is made, and the unforgiving immediacy of playing in front of people. When practicing for the show and training myself not to stop when I made mistakes, I had to remind myself: there are no wrong notes, only notes you commit to and notes you don’t. When you commit to an unexpected note, it’s not wrong anymore.
I had my small Harpsicle harp and a selection of pedals. I played 5 short semi-improvised pieces: themes I had prepared, which were a jumping off point to see where they would take me. |
